This downloadable book is the Boy Scout story of one of Troop 471’s highly illustrious Scouters, Mr. John Zane. In his narrative Mr. Zane tells of his years growing up as a Boy Scout, earning his Boy Scout rank awards as well as the leadership roles and scouting ideals that helped guide him throughout his life. Those involved in Scouting will easily relate to Mr. Zane’s story.

Mr. Zane has  been a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America for 70+ years and Troop 471 is fortunate to have him as a Scouter in our troop. He is clearly visible and an active participant at most weekly troop meetings and also a highlight each summer at Camp Sequassen when he arrives for a day and helps the boys learn a few scouting songs around the troop's campfire.
